It appears in light of the recent political and social climate, the Family of God in Christ Jesus, known as Christians, has called a truce among itself.
Recently characterized by infighting, it seems The Church has turned in its boxing gloves to focus on worldwide injustice, poverty, and spreading the Good News the Bible claims is for all people.
Among its various factions, known as denominations, The Church has traditionally drawn lines in the sand, avoiding joining forces with other believers in Jesus to co-labor within communities. However, evidence supports a shift in its prejudices when dealing with one another over nuanced disagreements, now favoring St. Peter’s advice to love each other deeply, because love allegedly covers a multitude of sins.
Atmospheric shifts are being reported within congregations once deemed dead, as members are repenting of judging each other, realizing the framework of their lukewarm misery was brought on by a curse warranted by Jesus Himself as recorded in Matthew 7:1.
Repentance has swept far and wide, causing such drastic measures as elaborate feasts, inviting people right off the streets into the banquet halls of God, including the poor, crippled, blind, lame and whosoever will come. Unexplainable blessings are being reported, similar to when Jesus walked the earth. Foster families and orphanages now have more than enough provisions, as all share as anyone has need.
The humbled nature of The Church since the truce has attracted multitudes to seek The God of Israel, described in the Bible as “The God of Hope.”
Personal accounts of God’s kindness, known as testimonies, are pouring out in lively conversations at department stores, waiting rooms, and ball fields, causing large crowds to gather to hear what Christians describe as the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Since the truce was called, aimed at disarming bitterness, an explosion of grace has occurred within every facet of The Church. Worship leaders no longer feel pressured to create “worship experiences” for attenders, since Christians now arrive already grateful and burning within to show their love to God through worship. Pastors report feeling refreshed and able to shepherd, finding volunteers lined up to share their burden for visiting the sick, imprisoned, and widowed. Christian bloggers have stopped rebutting each other and are instead unified to spread the light of the Gospel.
Perhaps the most spectacular result of The Church’s truce is the sudden willingness to pray powerful and effective prayers for anyone and everyone without passing judgment, especially for each other within the family of Christ.
Following the sweeping wind of repentance, Christians now find themselves both beneficiaries and witnesses of myriad healings and deliverances formerly believed to belong only to super-apostles. In their newly heightened state of thankfulness, believers overflow into their own neighborhoods and occupations, unable to contain their enthusiasm for what God can do.
The truce within The Church has created a curiosity for the things of God and the privileges of Christ’s inheritance. There are so many people anxious to enter The Church to observe the love of Christ once thought only to be a rumor, The Church no longer has time to monitor the sins of those who serve some other master besides Christ Jesus. Believers are now busy dislodging their own motes according to the requirements of their Lord Jesus, encouraging each other to finish the race set before them, and building each other up in love. Unfriendly competition has given way to outdoing each other in love and honor.
Disciples of Jesus are easier to identify than ever before because of their profound love, especially for each other.
Experts observe, though, history has proven that a strange paradox accompanies these types of movements: true repentance leads to revival within The Church, inciting persecution, resulting in revival spilling outside The Church.
For anyone unsure about the origin and sincerity of what is taking place, the official counsel is this: Be advised, Leave these people alone! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is of God, you will not be able to stop them; or else you may even be found fighting against God Himself.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
This is how everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
~ Jesus, Messiah
I pray that they will all be one, just as You and I are one… And may they be in us so that the world will believe You sent Me.
